Call for abstracts
The Belgian Society of Periodontology is pleased to announce a new edition of “free communications day” on Friday 7th December 2012 from 9:00pm to 5:30pm. Indeed, sharing nationally our research and know-how is very rewarding for everyone.
For this reason, postgraduate students, faculty members, BSP member and private clinicians are invited to propose their own research / clinical case in the eld of periodontology. (Clinical and basic research, long-term periodontal results, multidisciplinary treatment, implant treatment, …)
Guidelines
Deadline Submission:
Summaries can be submitted online until 10th September 2012 at info@parodontologie.be and will be addressed to a jury for a 15 minutes oral presentation.
A team presentation can also be considered (ex :perio/prosth, perio/ortho).
For Clinical / Basic Researches*:
The applicants must submit an abstract of their work (max. 400 words) according to the template available here: Introduction, materials and methods, results, conclusions.
The selection will be based on the quality of the abstract submitted with special emphasis on:
- Originality and hypothesis of the study (scientific and clinical impact)
- Methodology, including data quality
- Data interpretation and conclusions
*Research abstracts already presented at international meeting can also be submitted
For Clinical Case Presentations:
The applicants must submit a short PowerPoint presentation including pictures, x-rays and case discussion. The presentation has to respect the template available here (5 slides) and should be converted in a pdf file before submission (or .ppt file if < 3 MB).
The selection will be based on the quality of the submitted clinical case submitted with special emphasis on:
- Decision making
- Treatment conduction
- Final results
- Picture quality
Prizes
Five prizes of 600 euros each will be granted at the end of the day in the different categories:
- Basic research
- Clinical research
- Clinical case presentation (post graduate category)
- Clinical case presentation (advanced clinician category)
- Prize of the public: the best clinical case will be voted by the public
A special prize will also be addressed to the best undergraduate student presentation.
Publications of the winning cases/researches will be published in local journals.
